Teacups but the merry-go-round has it's charm as well
Definitely teacups, especially the ones at Canobie Lake Park. This stems from my [sometimes creepy] love of Alice in Wonderland and desire to like be the doormouse in the tea pot.
The Tilt-a-Whirl also makes me laugh uncontrollably.
It seems you are both fans of centrifugal force.
My dream is to someday propose to someone in Canobie Lake Park's Mine of Lost Souls. Best/Worst ride!
I love the teacups, scrambler, small cat-and-mouse rollercoasters, etc, but the TILT-A-WHIRL by far is the best ride ever. I could go on it over and over and over again. Luckily for me, there's one at Coney Island.
The haunted mine was always a Canobie staple. I can't imagine what dating in 6th grade would have been like without it. Pure romance!
i have to go with the Matterhorn (which goes by various other titles - it's the one that whips around a circular track, over raised turns and then goes in reverse around the same track after several minutes, usually to bumping music), the pirate ship, and any wooden roller coaster.
oh shit! I forgot the Matterhorn.
Least favorite: the ferris wheels with the free spinning cars.
Do the log rides count (I think it's called The Flume)? It's the absolute only thing I enjoy in amusement parks.

I also don't dig amusement parks but I do recall immensely enjoying the Tilt-A-Whirl at Whalom Park when my father took me and my siblings to company picnics. We always mysteriously missed the barbecue, however...
I don't know what my deal is with amusement parks, but I think it's because I'm not a huge fan of crowds, I'm not a risk taker, I'm not a huge fan of any sort of transportation that exceeds 30mph, and junk foods tend to hurt my stomach.
The log rides just do it for me... maybe the water at the end makes it less scary to plunge a couple stories down.
Dave, I am also a huge fan of Matthorn-like rides. There is actually a wicked sick one in Coney Island that blasts hip hop music and pulses those strobes so you seizure. I am very excited for my sister to come up in a few weeks so we can fully enjoy this ride (as well as the Tilt-A-Whirl and Scrambler)together.
